“I know that for the first round of World Cup qualifiers in September, Gregg is going to want players that are in form, playing for their club every game and doing really well. And the fact is that if I go to the Gold Cup, I would miss all of preseason with my club. If I do that, then I won’t be playing the first couple games this season, and if I’m not playing during the first games then I have no chance of being called up to World Cup qualifiers."
