Second-year MLS club Inter Miami continues to struggle.
It broke out of a scoring slump that almost extended four games when Gonzalo Higuain scored in the 67th minute to give the Herons a 1-0 lead over Florida rival Orlando City.
But the Lions came storming back on goals by Chris Mueller and Nani to beat Inter Miami, 2-1, and stun the first full-capacity crowd of 17,926 that included vacationing Christian Pulisic at DRV PNK Stadium.
The loss was the fourth in a row for Inter Miami, which is 2-6-2. Its first-year head coach, Phil Neville, had called the match the "biggest test" of the season, but you'd have never gauged the outcome by his reaction after the game.
“I feel really proud of the team," he said. "I think when you talk about what you want to see from the team, this is exactly what I saw tonight. I’m absolutely convinced that [if] we keep our attitude, we keep our level of performance, we are heading in the right direction."
