College Coaching Moves: Longtime women's head coaches Tom Saxton and Bryan Blitz retire

Several longtime women's coaches have stepped aside.

Becky Burleigh, who led Florida to a national championship in 1998, the fourth of her 26 years with the Gators, announced her retirement before the start of the 2021 spring season.

After completing his 30th year as the Michigan State women's head coach, Tom Saxton announced he would be retiring. Bryan Blitz, the only head coach in the history of Missouri's 25-year-old women's program, stepped down in April.

Bill Hempen, who coached 32 years at Duke, Colorado and Colorado State, is out after starting the Rams' program eight years ago.
