“Futsal develops the kind of skills that innumerable players have touted as the key to their success on the field. USYS recognizes this value and by offering this new event, will reward those clubs and players who see futsal as a way to pursue their pathway to achievement.”
-- US Youth Soccer CEO
Skip Gilbert on the youth organization's plan, in partnership with United Futsal, to hold its first futsal national championship Feb. 25-27, 2022, in Oklahoma City.
Great news! Futsal is a force multiplier for US player development. You don't have to play futsal to have above average skills but most who play futsal do. Big difference maker!
MC,
Based on my experience as a youth coach.....
Totally agree!!
Futsall is great to have but lets not overlook that Futsall should be a concept where by the size and weight of different balls should be applied, not just one type of ball for it restricts the youth of learning touch ,feel, tactics and technique of the game. This is why street soccer was so beneficial to developing a youths skill level for different type of balls were always employed and the kids never knew which kind of ball they were going to play with. Different type of ball makes the youth think more and be aware more of how a ball can be applied to a particular situation at the moment.
What Im trying to say it is more beneficial to youths development to play with different type of balls not just with one kind..This is why Brazilian kids have such great touch with ball for they even play rolled up paper ,socks, or whatever.
