Orlando City goalkeeper Pedro Gallese saved Alberto Espínola's spot kick, setting the stage for Miguel Trauco's decider for Peru's 4-3 shootout win over Paraguay after a 3-3 tie in regulation time.

Paraguay playmaker Miguel Almirón, MLS Cup 2018 champ with Atlanta United, missed the game because of an injury suffered in the loss to Uruguay in its Paraguay's last group game.

• Brazil advanced with a 1-0 win, Lucas Paqueta finishing a nifty buildup and Brazil holding on after Gabriel Jesus' 48th minute ejection.

Brazil beat Peru, 3-1, in the 2019 Copa America final.
