TV Watch: Euro 2020 continues to generate strong audiences

The eight round-of-16 games at Euro 2020 on ABC and ESPN averaged 1,816,000 viewers, a 38 percent increase compared to 1,317,000 viewers for the same stage in 2016.

That boosts the average audience for 44 games across ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 to 1,063,000 viewers, up 29 percent over 822,400 viewers for comparable matches in 2016.

The Belgium-Portugal game drew 2,653,000 viewers on ABC, making it the fifth most-watched European Championship match at any stage since ESPN and ABC began airing the tournament in 2008.

The top five watched games in the round of 16 attracted higher audiences than any round-of-16 game in 2016.

    Interest in Football in the U.S. has never been new S.A.. it is the most popular sport in the world for a reason. It's been proven time and time again. People like Football man! Good football is always a good show.
