England crushed Ukraine, 4-0, to reach the European Championship semifinals for the first time since 1996.

Harry Kane led England with two goals. He put the Three Lions ahead after four minutes at Rome's Stadio Olimpico, and scored one of three goals in the first 16 minutes to start the second half.

Jadon Sancho, who had played just six minutes in England's first four games, earned his first Euro 2020 start while Mason Mount returned to the starting lineup.

7. England extended its shutout streak to seven games, the longest in its history.

Twenty-nine years after it won the European Championship, Denmark has returned to the semifinals.

The Danes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and held on for a 2-1 win after Patrik Schick scored his fifth goal of the tournament early in the second half.

They have won their last three games after opening the tournament with losses to Finland and Belgium.

11. Denmark has scored 11 goals in five games at Euro 2020, the most its has ever scored in a major tournament.

    England has an embarrassment of riches in its midfielders and wingers.  For this reason, they should probably be the favorites to win at this juncture.  No matter what the opponent, Southgate can be the chess master putting the attackers best suited to break down an opponent.  With Pickford and a talented back line, look out Denmark.
