“Getting here was a struggle after going to Poland to sort out my visa. I was stuck there for 10 days in a hotel room in Warsaw. Nothing was open in the city, it was in full lockdown. I was eating room service the entire time, not knowing if or when I’d be allowed out to go to America. There was no time frame, I could have been there two months. I just had to wait on the phone to ring which was really tough mentally. I could only go out for a walk. One day I walked a half marathon just to kill a few hours.”
