USL Championship: Switchback Hadji Barry moves closer to scoring record

Atlantic Division

Back after missing almost three months with a broken foot, Cape Verdean Steevan Dos Santos scored twice to lead Tampa Bay to a 4-0 win over Charlotte before 4,461 fans in St. Petersburg. The Rowdies (4-0-1 in their last five games) moved back ahead of Pittsburgh with the win. Charleston's 0-0 tie with visiting Orange City SC was enough to move it into fourth place.

FC Tulsa won its third game in seven days and solidified third place with a 3-2 win over Atlanta United 2. Lebo Moloto scored two goals -- his first goals since August 2020. Venezuelan Manuel Arteaga scored both goals to lead Indy Eleven past Real Monarchs, 2-0, The win moved Indy into fourth place.

Mountain Division

Justin Dhillon scored in stoppage time to give San Antonio FC a 2-1 win over El Paso that moved it into fourth place. The defeat was only the Locomotive's second of the season and snapped its 10-match unbeaten streak. Colorado Springs' unbeaten streak is five games thanks to a 4-1 win over Austin in front of a sold-out crowd of 8,023 at Weidner Field. Hadji Barry opened the scoring with a penalty kick for his 20th goal in 20 games. Barry, who is 6-for-6 from the penalty spot, needs five more goals to tie the league record for goals in a season set by Cameron Lancaster with 25 for Louisville City in 2018.

San Diego, which began the season with four straight defeats, has climbed into second place thanks to its 3-1 win before 8,010 fans at Sac Republic FC. Augustine Williams, recently loaned by the LA Galaxy to the Loyal for the rest of the season, scored two goals. First-year Oakland climbed out of the basement with a 3-1 win over Tacoma before 4,118 fans at Laney College. The win extended the Roots' win streak to three games and unbeaten streak to six games.
