The national teams of Colombia and El Salvador will face in each other in an international soccer friendly at Giants Stadium on Saturday, May 29th. The game will follow the MLS contest between the
MetroStars and the New England Revolution scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET. "It will be very exciting to bring these two popular national teams to Giants Stadium, since both have a large loyal following
in the New York/New Jersey area," said MetroStars GM Charlie Stillitano. "We are anticipating a very festive atmosphere that night at Giants Stadium." Colombia has participated in each of the last
three World Cups. This match will mark the third consecutive year Colombia has played at Giants Stadium. It defeated the MetroStars in a friendly, 2-0, on May 14, 1997. Last year, on May 23, it tied
Scotland 2-2 in a World Cup warm-up. El Salvador will make its first-ever appearance at Giants Stadium. The team just missed qualifying for last year's World Cup in France, finishing four points
behind Jamaica in their CONCACAF qualifying group. Both teams are expected to release their roster for the friendly several weeks prior to the match. Tickets for the soccer doubleheader can
