What They're Saying: Julian Araujo

"Growing up in a Mexican-American household and being introduced to their support by watching Mexico games with my family, that’s what kind of inspired me. That inspired me to play. I grew up watching Mexico. We’d get together with food, have a barbecue. I’d wake up early or stay up late for games at the World Cup."

-- LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo, 20, on choosing to represent Mexico instead of the U.S. national team at the senior level. The California-born Araujo said he chose "what I feel is best for me and where my heart was" but he will be forever grateful for the opportunities U.S. Soccer gave him. He played for USA in Concacaf qualifying for the 2019 Under-20 World Cup, for the U.S. U-23s against Mexico during the USA's failed Olympic qualifying campaign, and in a full national team friendly last December. Oh Humm... He was like #7 on the Depth Chart at Right Back.
No wonder the Olympic Team didn't Qualify,
Had players in it, that didn't really Care for USA.!!!
