UEFA Women's Champions League: Tobin Heath and Catarina Macario score in big wins

The 33-year-old U.S. veteran Tobin Heath  scored her first goal for Arsenal since arriving in September with a half-volley from six yards in a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim in game day 2 of UEFA Women's Champions League group play.

Arsenal had opened Group C play with a 4-1 loss to Barcelona, which won, 2-0, at HB Koge on Thursday. American Kyra Carusa nearly scored in the first minute for the Danish club that went into halftime with a scoreless tie but conceded goals by Fridolina Rolfö in the 63rd minute and Jennifer Hermoso on a stoppage time penalty kick. Americans  Kaylan Marckese, Kelly Fitzgerald and Maddie Pokorny also started for HB Koge while Lauren Sajewich came on in the 82nd minute.

Lyon leads Bayern Munich by two points in Group D after its second shutout win. The 22-year-old Catarina Macario, who also scored in Lyon's 3-0 opening win over BK Häcken, scored from the penalty spot in Lyon's 5-0 win over Benfica and assisted on Melvine Malard's overhead strike.


American American Tiffany McCarthy started and played 62 minutes for Icelandic club Breioablik in its 5-0 loss at Real Madrid.
