“I view the stadium, AT&T Stadium, I view it as a theater stage. That’s the way I built it. A theater stage, you can convert it to any shape.”
-- Dallas Cowboys owner
Jerry Jones, on the stadium, widely referred to as Jerry World, he built at a cost of $1.3 billion. The Dallas World Cup 2026 bid committee, which hosted FIFA inspectors this weekend, is prepared to host a semifinal or the final indoors at AT&T Stadium in 2026 as well as the International Broadcast Center, as it did in 1994 at Fair Park. Dear Soccer America: Could someone please inquire how AT&T Stadium would hold World Cup games? Would they raise the floor 10 feet, wiping out thousands of seats and premium boxes, to allow for a 75' wide field? Or do they propose that games at AT&T Stadium be played on a 58' wide field (still with little room for players taking corner kicks.)
This is worthy of reporting and journalism.
