• The United Soccer League named Mark Richard vice president of expansion & real estate, in charge of overseeing the league’s move into new markets. Previously, Richard served as president & CEO of the Downtown Spokane Partnership, an advocate for Spokane’s new downtown stadium project. The 5,000-seat venue will serve as the home to a USL League One team and W League team.
• NISA earned provisional national league status from U.S. Adult Soccer for NISA Nation, its incubator amateur league that began in the fall with 10 clubs in two regions. More than 25 clubs are expected to play in four regions in the spring.
