I don't know who Tracey Kevins is, other than the fact that she was never a Nats player. Doesn't USSF care enough about player development to find an ex-player to coach up our ladies?
Why does a coach need to be a top former player?
Wayne, given that there is a complete surfeit of coaches in this country, but so few coaches that actually know how to develop players, I believe ex-players can make the best coaches--so why don't we start there? Won't an ex player be able to demonstrate a move or tactic, having done it in a competitive environment? All the technical/tactical issues Frank mentions during his weekly postings are important missed opportunities to improve our players at younger ages. Once they get older it's much more difficult. I want a coach that has the stones to tell Moultrie that if she doesn't develop a left foot in the next 2 years, there won't be a future for her on the Nats. But no one will do that. Instead, we just get faster running, further kicking, and all the headless chicken running around we ususally see at the club level.
R2, Very well put......That is how it should be....
It does seem strange that we have to get Coaches for USA National WOMEN'S Team that are "Non-USA" Womens National Team Players...
There have been so Many Good Players... What has Happened to them.???
Good Article for the SA Staff to Write... "WHERE ARE THEY NOW.!!!"
Seems like going down the List of Former National Team Players(Even if they only Played One Game) would be an Interesting Study.
All the USWNT Players griping about Equality and Opportunity, yet they Don't or Won't take Coaching Positions...
R@, as to Tarcey Kevins...Had to Look her Up on the Internet...
Seems like a English Amatuer Player that got into coaching and has Worked her way thru the Levels...
I withhold Judgment until we see the Results...
JUST WIN, BABY WIN... QUALIFY.!!!
