USL makes Hisense USA its official television

The USL has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Hisense USA, the maker of consumer electronics and home appliances, making the company the USL's official television.

As part of the deal, Hisense USA's first league-wide agreement, the USL and Hisense USA will develop new mini-pitches in conjunction with the USL’s Community Pitch program to create new playing opportunities for local youth. The first mini-pitch will be unveiled in the Tampa area in late 2022.

“The USL and Hisense USA have a shared vision to have a real impact on local communities through soccer and unique fan experiences,” said Josh Keller, the USL's senior vice president of corporate partnerships. “The USL is in an exciting phase of strategic growth, and we are thrilled to work with an innovative technology leader that is dedicated to supporting our efforts to grow the game and differentiate our league within the soccer landscape.”

Hisense, a World Cup 2022 sponsor, was established in 1969 and headquartered in Qingdao, China.

TV? I would have hoped for a low-cost streaming deal to enable cheap, distributed entertainment. At least for the first deal, to build brand awareness. Also, I thought we weren't doing deals with China anymore? C'mon, man! What's the big guy have to say about this?

USL is already streamed on ESPN+ which for the content it has and the fact you can bundle it with Hulu and Disney+ makes it pretty cheap/cost effective.
