Sixteen playoff berths at stake. MLS Next Flex, a five-day event beginning Friday at the Maryland SoccerPlex, will bring in 64 teams competing in four age groups (U15, U16, U17 and U19) for spots in the MLS Next Cup Playoffs June 25-July 3 in Frisco, Texas. Regular-season standings will determine the other playoff berths. (Schedule)
IFCPF World Cup:
• U.S. women win 16-0 in first match ever. The USA beat host Spain in its first international Para women's match ever played as part of the five-team IFCPF World Cup. Catarina Guimaraes, 18, scored six first-galf goals. Rebecca Ostrander and Leah Glaser added hat tricks. (Game Report)
• U.S. men fall 5-1 to Ukraine in semifinals. Cameron DeLillo scored the lone goal for the USA, which will face Brazil for third place on Sunday. Ukraine's Para men, winners of their five matches by a margin of 27-3, will face Iran in the final. (Game Report)
