• Jesus Ferreira takes lead for Golden Boot. Ferreira, 21, scored twice and USMNT teammate Paul Arriola added a third goal, all in a span of 12 minutes early in the first half, to give FC Dallas a 3-1 win at LA Galaxy that moved it to within one point of the lead in the 2022 MLS Supporters' Shield race. Ferreira has scored a career-high nine goals, all in only 11 games. (Highlights)

• Timbers end slump with record-breaking win. Portland set a club record for goals scored in an MLS match, getting two goals each from Sebastian Blanco and Nathan Fogaca (in his MLS debut) in the second half of a 7-2 win over slumping Sporting KC. The Timbers came into the game with a five-game winless streak across all competitions. Sporting KC's 0.75 points-per-game is the lowest average in MLS. (Highlights)
