Haji Wright extended his scoring streak to seven games -- two shy of the Turkish Super Lig record -- in Antalyaspor's 4-2 win at Kasimpasa.
Wright scored into an empty goal to give Antalayaspor a 3-1 lead after he intercepted a clearance by Kasimpasa keeper
Erdem Canpolat. He also assisted on Angolan
Fredy's opening goal after a great move to beat his marker on the left side and set up the fourth goal that was given as an own goal. Later in the game, he hit the crossbar.
Wright has scored eight goals in the seven games to give him 14 goals, tied for fifth in the Super Lig. The win extended Anatalayaspor's unbeaten streak to 15 games under first-year coach
Nuri Sahin, the former Borussia Dortmund star. It has climbed to eighth place in the 18-team Super Lig with one game to play.
Wright played for the USA at the 2015 Under-17 World Cup but has long been capped at the senior level. He is expected to be called up for the USA's four matches in June.
He started out his European career at Schalke 04 in Germany, where he made seven Bundesliga appearances, and spent one season each at Dutch club Venlo and Denmark’s SønderjyskE.
Wright is on loan to Antalyaspor from SonderjyskE, which was relegated from the Danish Superliga.
