Americans Abroad:
• De la Torre's Heracles looks relegation-bound.
 The 23-year-old U.S. midfielder went the full 90 for Dutch club Heracles in its 3-0 promotion playoff loss to second-tier Excelsior. The series' second leg takes place on Saturday. Heracles had fired its coach, Frank Wormuth, after its loss on the final day of the season sent it into 16th place and the promotion-relegation playoffs.

• U.S. U-20 women beat Ticas again. Coach Tracey Kevins' team followed up on Sunday's 3-0 friendly win over Costa Rica with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. Katherine Rader (Florida United), who also scored in the first game, struck twice. Sally Menti (Santa Clara), Jaedyn Shaw (Washington Spirit) and Jilly Shimkin (Penn State) rounded out the scoring. U.S. U-16 girls down Norway. At a UEFA Development Tournament in Sweden, goals by the San Diego Surf's  Kennedy Roesch and Ines Derrien, and Reese Klein (Florida United) and Ava McDonald (FC Dallas) earned the U.S. U-16 girls national team a 4-0 win over Sweden. The team is coached by U.S. U-17 head coach Natalia Astrain. (U.S. roster)
