NWSL: Alex Morgan continues hot streak

• Alex Morgan continues hot start. Morgan scored her league-high sixth goal in five games to give expansion San Diego a 1-0 victory at the North Carolina Courage. Only twice in her nine seasons in the NWSL has she scored more than six goals in a season (nine with Portland in 2013 and with Orlando in 2017). The Wave (4-1-0) and Angel City (3-1-0), the two 2022 expansion teams, top the standings. (Goal)

• Gotham FC hits woodwork five time and loses. Gotham FC fell at home to Racing Louisville, 1-0, after having five shots hit off the woodwork, including two by Kristie Mewis the first half and Ifeoma Onumounu's chipped attempt over keeper Katie Lund (photo) in the 88th minute. The win gave Louisville back-to-back wins for the first time in its two seasons and extended its unbeaten streak to a club record four games. (Highlights)
