• Minnesota Aurora FC draws 5,219 for opener. Aurora's first game at sold-out TCO Stadium in Eagan ended in a 1-1 tie when Green Bay Glory equalized in the 89th minute on a goal by Laura Linares. The Minnesota goal was scored by Shelby Hopeau, a high school senior from Honolulu. The community-owned Aurora received national attention when more than 3,000 Twin Cities residents raised $1 million for the club's launch. (

• Trio of Yanks headed to Copa de la Reina final. Americans Emily Dolan (FGCU), Kristina Fisher (Miami) and Hannah Keane (San Diego State) stand in the way of Barcelona and a perfect season in Spanish competitions. They started for Sporting de Huelva in its 1-0 win over UDG Tenerife to move into Sunday's Copa de la Reina final against Barca, which has a 36-0-0 record in domestic play. (
