Mark Krikorian joins Washington Spirit. Krikorian, who led Florida State to NCAA Division I women's titles in 2014, 2018 and 2021, has joined the reigning NWSL champion as president of soccer operations and general manager. The three-time National Coach of the Year stepped down as the Seminoles' coach earlier in the year. Ben Olsen was hired as club president in September 2021 to oversee business and sporting operations but left in April following the sale of the club to Michele Kang to whom Krikorian will report.

Adrian Heath gets extension at Minnesota United.The head coach since the Loons' MLS launch in 2017 signed a new deal that keeps him with them through the 2024 MLS season. He has led Minnesota United to the playoffs for each of the last three seasons, but it sits in a tie for 10th place after 15 games in 2022. His MLS regular-season record over six seasons is 63-72-35. Assistant coaches Ian Fuller and Sean McAuley and goalkeeper coach Stewart Kerr also signed new contracts.

California Clasico postponed after power outage. Saturday's annual San Jose-LA Galaxy clash at Stanford Stadium has been rescheduled for Sept. 24 because Stanford University has been experiencing a power outage due to an equipment failure caused by Tuesday's nearby Edgewood Fire. A PGE transmission line to the campus lost power when the 20-acre fire broke out. On Wednesday, Stanford canceled summer classes for the remainder of the week.
