National Women's Soccer League:
• Amber Brooks suspended for giving finger. Brooks, whose two goals sparked the Washington Spirit in its 4-3 win over San Diego to snap its 16-game winless streak, was issued a one-game suspension and a fine for "major game misconduct:" giving the finger to an assistant referee for awarding the Wave a corner kick that led to an Alex Morgan goal. Brooks will miss two games, having to serve another suspension for yellow card accumulation.

MLS Next:
• Shaun Tsakiris joins LA Galaxy Academy as U-17 head coach. Tsakiris, the U.S. U-20 men's national team's assistant coach and former U.S. U-16 men's head coach, will also serve as the Galaxy's director of individual development programs. Ian Feuer joins the Galaxy Academy as director of goalkeeping.
