The 24-year-old Alejandro Zendejas, an FC Dallas homegrown who moved to Liga MX in 2016, scored Club America's second goal in its 2-1 Super Clasico win over Chivas Guadalajara on Saturday. Zendejas, who played for the USA at the 2015 U-17 World Cup, has played in two friendlies for Mexico but is being considered for a call-up by the U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter. Zendejas joined Chivas when he left FC Dallas after the 2015 season but first broke through in Liga MX when he joined Necaxa in 2020. He's started all 15 of Club America's Apertura games this season.
Zendejas' shot nutmegged Chivas defender Luis Olivas before beating goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez.
