MLS at World Cup: Ten players start, five subbed on

After two games, Canada, which fields the most MLS players, is out of knockout-round contention following a 4-1 loss to Croatia (after opening with a 1-0 loss to Belgium).

Costa Rican Bryan Oviedo Real Salt Lake and Australian Milos Degenek of the Columbus Crew were the two MLS players to see action in victories in the second round of World Cup group play, which ended on Monday.

Of the 35 players on MLS first-team and World Cup rosters, 15 started or subbed on in their team’s first group game (44%).

Of the 15 who made an appearance, 10 started for their country and five subbed on.
