What They're Saying: Earnie Stewart

“As we always do after a major tournament, we are taking time to reflect. We will conduct a full review with everyone involved as we determine our next steps. We look forward to building off the performance in Qatar and preparing for the journey towards 2026.”

-- U.S. Soccer sporting director Earnie Stewart on conducting a review of the U.S. national team's performance at the 2022 World Cup, where it lost in the round of 16. The statement followed an ESPN report that head coach Gregg Berhalter was set to begin discussions with the federation on a new contract.

Let's be honest. We should've done better with the team that we had. Yes we made a few juvenile mistakes that cost us the NED game, and we looked sketchy 2nd half vs Iran.

The Federation needs to take our next step seriously and get the best possible coach. Unfortunately, GB is not "next level".
