Julie Foudy and Kyle Martino among hires for U.S. national team broadcasts on TNT and HBO Max

Former U.S. internationals Julie Foudy and Kyle Martino, both well-known soccer analysts, are among the hires for U.S. national team broadcasts, which will move to TNT and HBO Max in 2023.

Foudy, who won two World Cup championships and a pair of Olympic titles with the USA, has been an analyst with ESPN since 2005. She has been the lead television voice on women’s soccer for ESPN and worked on its coverage of the 2007 and 2011 World Cups.

Martino, the MLS Rookie of the Year honors in 2002, previously served as a studio and game analyst for NBC’s coverage of the English Premier League for its first eight years.

Other analysts will be DaMarcus Beasley, who was elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame in November, and Shannon Boxx, who was inducted in 2022.

Luke Wileman, the leading voice of soccer in Canada for more than a dozen years, will serve as TNT and HBO Max’s lead play-by-play voice for its U.S. Soccer coverage. Four-time Emmy Award-winning sports broadcast Sara Walsh will host studio coverage of U.S. Soccer while former Colombian international Melissa Ortiz will serve as a reporter.

I quite like him. Any other suggestions? At least they didn't go the Gus Johnson route, hahaha

Porque no asignaron a Herculez, or Perez, or another Latino-Hispanic personality?  I thought that the broadcasting "geniuses" would want to expand/grow their viewership with some Latino-Hispanic commentators?  Well, I s'pose 'its is "same old-same old..."

Maybe Apple will poach Herc for their Spanish coverage?

Good point Ric! Salazar and Herc are great and they cover the US and Mexico and the international relationship that is never going away (especially now with Leagues) and so many young players who can play for either country.

Swing and a miss...  Martino sucks. Foudy is now part of The "Good 'ole Girls Club".  I'm going to throw up watching these two.  Foudy used to be cool.  Martino never was.
