Angel City FC made deals with the Portland Thorns and Gotham FC to acquire the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NWSL Draft. It sent its natural first-round pick in the 2023 draft, natural second-round pick in the 2024 draft and $200,000 in allocation money in exchange for midfielder Yazmeen Ryan. It then traded Ryan and $250,000 in allocation money to Gotham FC in exchange for the No. 1 pick, pending conditions met. The Los Angeles Times reported that Angel City might sign Alyssa Thompson, who made her senior international debut in September at 17, if she enters the draft … In another deal, Gotham FC sent $350,000 in allocation money and a fourth-round pick in the 2024 draft to Orlando for the No. 2 pick in the 2023 draft.
