Brad Friedel helped Blackburn upset defending Premier League champion Arsenal, 2-1, at Highbury but faces the prospect of knee surgery after spraining his knee in practice before the game.
Claudio Reyna was stretchered off the field during the first half of Sunderland's Monday game still in progress at Bolton. The extent of his injury was not known, but his knee with heavily bandaged, and he was taken to the hospital for examination.
