California, very talented but very inconsistent, falls from the Top 10, diving from seventh to 18th after being swept by Washington and Washington State.
There isn't much other movement in the Top 10. A few teams move up a slot, and North Carolina -- despite a 0-0 draw with Duke -- remains No. 2, behind Stanford.
The most significant jumps elsewhere in the Top 25 are by Clemson, which moves from 17th to 12th after completing its ACC slate with a 4-3 record, and Washington, which climbs from 25th to 20th after beating Cal and limiting Stanford to one goal. No. 11 Connecticut, No. 15 Villanova and No. 17 Arizona State also made climbs.
Florida State (19th), Utah (24th) and Auburn (25th), all ranked earlier in the season, return to the Top 25. Maryland falls out after one week following a home loss to the Seminoles; Princeton is out after losing at home to Harvard, its first defeat of the year; and Nebraska is gone after a loss at home to Oklahoma State.
