Watch: A soccer assist in ice hockey game

You've heard of a "hockey assist" in soccer — the term crediting the player who passed the ball to the teammate who made the final pass to the goalscorer.

Alex Kerfoot of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs gave us a soccer assist in a hockey game when he sent the puck off his skate — no mean feat — to Auston Matthews on the opening goal of a 4-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
