• Charleston defeated Rio Grande Valley FC, 2-0, thanks to a pair of goals by Augi Williams at H-E-B Park. Keeper Trey Muse made 10 saves (a league-high for the 2023 season) in the win, which kept the Battery in the conference lead, four points ahead of Tampa Bay, Louisville City and Pittsburgh. • The Rowdies were winners of their fifth straight game with a 2-1 victory over Colorado Springs, while Louisville City and the Riverhounds also won.
Western Conference:
• Sac Republic FC opened a five-point lead over idle El Paso with a 4-1 win over Hartford. Russell Cicerone, Sebastian Herrera, Jack Gurr and Luther Archimède all scored in the road win.• Las Vegas became the last team to pick up its first win over the 2023 season when it defeated Phoenix, 1-0, on Cubo Torres' goal. It was the Lights' first win in seven trips to Phoenix.
