Watch: Heidenheim win first Bundesliga promotion with two stoppage-time goals


FC Heidenheim, a fifth-tier club 20 years ago and third division champions in 2014, was down 2-1 against SSV Jahn Regensburg needing a win to leap-frog Hamburg SV atop the German second division standings after HSV's 1-0 win over Sandhausen.

Tim Kleindienst (90+3) and Jan-Niklas Beste (90+9) delivered to the dismay of HSV players and fans following from afar.

HSV still has a chance to return to the top tier — where it played since the Bundesliga founding in 1963 before dropping in 2019 — with a two-leg playoff against 16th place Bundesliga finisher VfB Stuttgart.
