U.S. U-16 MYNT wins International Dream Cup opener

The USA won its opening game at the International Dream Cup for under-16 boys national teams with a 2-1 win over host Japan.

• Japan-USA Highlights:

Captain Santiago Morales, the son of former MLS star Javier Morales, and sub Sean Petrie, a late call-up from the Barca Residency Academy, scored for the U.S. U-16s.

The USA started three players who have already signed with MLS first teams: Christian McFarlane (NYCFC), Stiven Jimenez (FC Cincinnati) and Nimfasha Berchimas (Charlotte FC).

The U-16s will face the Netherlands on Friday (JFAtv) and Nigeria on Sunday (JFAtv) to round out play at the J-Village Stadium in Fukushima.
