The Annapolis Blues broke their attendance record with a crowd of 8,480 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for their shootout win over the Alexandria Reds in the final of the Mid-Atlantic Conference playoffs.
Georgetown's
Jacob Murrell scored in stoppage time to even the score at 2-2 and converted the deciding penalty kick in the shootout for the Blues, who moved into the East regional, which will be hosted by FC Motown.
The Lubbock Matadors drew their own record crowd of 5,842 for their 1-0 loss to Brownsville NPSL, who advanced to the Midwest regional thanks to a goal from English-Mexican veteran
Antonio Pedroza in the second overtime period.
