World Deaf Football Championships: USA sweeps England

The U.S. men’s and women's national teams both beat England teams on Friday at the World Deaf Football Championships in Malaysia.

A goal by Chad Johnson gave the U.S. men a 1-0 win in the round of 16. They will face Senegal in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The U.S. women got two goals apiece from Emily Spreeman and Holly Hunter in a 4-0 win against England, its third victory in three games.

Sunday’s group finale is against Poland in a rematch of the 2022 Deaflympics final the USA won in a shootout.
