Deaf Football World Championships: U.S. teams split

The U.S. women’s deaf national team won its fourth straight game at the Deaf Football World Championships, rallying for a 2-1 win over Poland thanks to a pair of goals by Emily Spreeman, who leads all players with 11 goals in four matches. The win moved the top-seeded Americans into the semifinals against fourth-seeded England. The U.S, men fell to Senegal 1-0 in the quarterfinals and dropped into the classification bracket, where they open against Iran.
