  • Octagonal: FIFA punishments for incidents at September qualifiers

    1. El Salvador. San Salvador's Estadio Cuscatlan closed to fans for the Nov. 12 match against Jamaica and Salvadoran federation fined $32,500 for fans entering the field and laser pointers being used against visiting players during Sept. 2 match against USA.
    2. *Honduras. North and south sections of San Pedro Sula's Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano closed for Nov. 12 match against Panama, and Honduran federation fined $65,000 for homophobic chants during Sept. 8 match against USA.
    3. Panama. Panama City's Estadio Rommel Fernandez closed to fans for Nov. 16 match against El Salvador and Panamanian federation fined $54,000 for homophobic chants during Sept. 2 match against Costa Rica and Sept. 8 match against Mexico.
    *FIFA has also opened investigations into incidents during the Oct. 7 and Oct. 13 games against Costa Rica and Jamaica.
