• Nathan Goldberg Crenier, who for the last year has served as Assistant GM & Chief Soccer Officer of the NWSL's Gotham FC, has announced his candidacy for U.S. Soccer vice president. Goldberg Crenier, who served as special assistant to current U.S. Soccer president Cindy Parlow Cone and her predecessor, Carlos Cordeiro, is running for the seat currently held by Bill Taylor, who won a 2021 election to fill the VP position vacated when Parlow Cone (VP since 2019) moved into the presidency upon Cordeiro's resignation. Cordeiro had served as VP in 2016-2018. Mike Edwards served as VP in 2006-2016.

• Coach Francis Farberoff has selected 16 players for the U.S. men’s beach soccer national team’s training camp Oct. 3-8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It is preparing for November’s Intercontinental Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and February’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, also in the UAE. Nine players were part of the U.S. squad that claimed the 2023 Concacaf Beach Championship. Two newcomers are goalkeeper Patrick Leeman and forward Arlo Moore-Bloom, a frequent Soccer America contributor.
