In response to overwhelming fan requests, D.C. United officials have announced that Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the New England Revolution will kick off at 8:00 (ET) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at RFK Stadium. The match was originally scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., but thousands of D.C. United fans responded that the afternoon starting time would prevent them from attending the match. The San Jose Clash has announced that it will host Atlas of Mexico in an international friendly match Nov. 7 at Spartan Stadium. The friday-night encounter will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (PT). Atlas is currently atop Group 4 of the Mexican First Division and is led in scoring by forward Daniel Guzman, who played four games for the Clash earlier this season. Gary Zagha Rumson, NJ Why has Tony Meola not been invited to play for the National Team? Has he been overlooked by the federation for leaving the team to try a pro football career? After watching Tony play last year and this year for the MetroStars of MLS I think the federation should rethink their selection criteria.
