    Denise Schilte-Brown, who led Virginia Commonwealth to the NCAA Tournament in 2004 and 2005, has accepted the womenÆs soccer head coach position at the University of South Florida, replacing Logan Fleck.     Canadian Brian Rigby has been named interim De Paul women's soccer coach. Rigby has spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the women's soccer program. A veteran of the Chicagoland soccer scene, Rigby was President and Director of Coaching and Training for the Cosmos FC in Roselle, Ill. He played college soccer at UIC.
  • COLLEGE MEN: High Point hires Elon assistant Fonder
    High Point hired Dustin Fonder as its men's soccer head coach. Fonder joins the High Point staff after having served as the assistant coach at Elon for the past three years. He helped to build Elon program from an RPI of 165 in 2004 to its first ever Top 25 national ranking in the 2006 season. Fonder serves as the Director of Coaching for the Burlington (N.C.) Soccer Club. He served as the assistant menÆs and womenÆs soccer coach at D3 Roanoke College prior to Elon.

    Charlotte has named Ft. Lewis coach Jeremy Gunn as the 49ers new head men's soccer coach. Gunn led the Skyhawks to three NCAA Division II championship games in his eight-year stint, including each of the last two years. Ft. Lewis won the 2005 championship and finished as the runner-up in 2006. Gunn was named Division II National Coach of the Year in 2005 after leading the Skyhawks to an unbeaten (22-0-1) season.     Well, those rumors a few months back about Peter Nowak leaving D.C. United and being replaced by assistant Tom Soehn turned out to be true. Sort of. Nowak is indeed leaving D.C.
