North Alabama FUTSAL League
The North Alabama FUTSAL League hosts The Mighty Fours Futsal(sm) Tournament on May 25-26, 2019 (Saturday/Sunday before Memorial Day). This is a 4v4, including goalkeeper, tournament of futsal that is a fast paced, high scoring, and electrifying sport. Futsal, invented in Uruguay in 1930, flourished in Brazil, because the most popular spectator sport there and in Spain, bigger than the NBA is in the US, and now exploding in popularity in the United States and in Alabama. While standard futsal is 5v5, The Mighty Fours(sm) futsal tournament is reduced to 4v4 for more challenge. Substitutes complement players to a max team size of 10 athletes in this tournament. Youth divisions of 8U thru 18U year old players, middle school (12–14U) and high school (15–18U) divisions, an adult open division and an adult women’s division can compete, if they register first. There are limited space & time, thus limited quantity of divisions may register and have great fun. WILL YOU COMPETE? All teams will play a minimum of three to five games each. Division champions and finalists will receive trophies and medals. Team entrance fee is $280, but only $250 if registered and paid by the Early Bird Special deadline. See All games are 40 minutes (2 20-min halves). All teams must post a $50 Performance Bond that is refunded at the end of the tournament, if not used. If you played soccer this spring, including spring soccer tournaments, this futsal tournament, “The Mighty Fours”, will be the one you will remember the longest. I guarantee it! To be played in the gyms at James Clemens High School and Liberty Middle School in Madison, AL, next to Huntsville, AL, home of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Sci-Quest, Huntsville Museum of Art, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, EarlyWorks Children’s History Museum, Huntsville Botanical Garden and more.
