• Costa RIca’s U-23s for their international men’s friendly against Colombia include eight foreign-based players. There are players from teams in England, Scotland, Greece, Cyprus and Slovakia. There’s Timothy Arias from NCAA Division I UCF. And then there’s forward Hakeem Morgan from St. Olaf College, an NCAA Division III program based in Minnesota. The senior forward has played only two and a half seasons for the Oles because of the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020, but he has 29 goals and 20 assists in 47 games. “I am very grateful for being part of this program,” he said. “because I know that I would not be having this opportunity if it wasn’t for what we have built at St. Olaf over the last few years.”
