[AMERICANS ABROAD] Jermaine Jones joined DaMarcus Beasley as the only Americansto score in the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League when he scored the all-important away goal on the stroke of halftime in German club Schalke 04’s 1-1 tie at Galatarasay in the first leg oftheir round-of-16 series on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Jones picked up a yellow card, his second of the competition, and is suspended for the second leg.
