[MLS] The return of Brian Ching to sharp goalscoring form arrived just in time for the Dynamo, which has lost rookie forward WillBruin for at least a month to knee surgery.

A lateral meniscus partial meniscectomy was performed on his left knee Tuesday by team physician Dr. Kaare Kolstad.Bruin suffered damage to his meniscus in the first half of Houston’s 3-1 victory over Seattle Saturday at Robertson Stadium. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

In 20 games therookie out of Indiana University scored four goals, three of them in a hat trick against D.C. United in late April.

Ching scored two goals in just his 11th appearance of the season in the3-1 defeat of Seattle. He has three on the season, one behind Bruin’s team-high of four. He’s been hobbled by hamstring, foot and rib injuries this season and sat out a one-game suspensionprior to his return for the Seattle game.

  1. Will and his family were across the street neighbors of mine in St. Louis. When he was about 10 years old, he, my son and I kicked around a few times. Even at that age, you could tell he was going to be special.Speedy recovery Will!
