* Maarten Paes joins FC Dallas on permanent transfer. The 24-year-old Dutch keeper was playing with FC Dallas on a short-term loan from the Eredivisie’s FC Utrecht. Paes, who is signed with FC Dallas through December 2025 with club options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, has started 14 matches and holds a 1.00 goals-against average. third in MLS.
* Nico Mezquida headed to Greece’s Volos FC. The Colorado Rapids agreed to transfer the 30-year-old Uruguayan midfielder after nearly a decade in MLS with 122 appearances for Vancouver and 84 for Colorado. Rapids general manager Padraig Smith praised Mezquida for his “contagious, uplifting attitude and impeccable work ethic.”
