Good morning! Haji Wright, who scored the tying goal in stoppage time of Coventry City’s FA Cup thriller against Manchester United, wasn’t the first American to score at Wembley. In the answer to a great Americans Abroad trivia question, that honor fell to Mike Masters (Williams College) playing for Colchester United in the 1992 FA Trophy final. Years from now, they’ll still be talking about yesterday’s semifinal match and how close Coventry came to winning in the dying seconds of overtime and avoiding the shootout it lost. Victor Torp’s goal was denied by VAR for offside on Wright, who had supplied the cross. How close was the call? “Had he cut his toenails we wouldn’t be talking about penalties,” joked Coventry manager Mark Robins.
