England’s Women’s Super League, which has played a summer season since its launch in 2011, will switch to a fall-spring schedule in 2016-17. English star  Eniola Aluko, who plays forChelsea Ladies, says it is a good move for the women’s game, creating opportunities for joint operations and joint promotions. It will also put English clubs in sync with other European teamscompeting in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. (The switch would also potentially create opportunities for NWSL players to go on loan during the offseason like they have done in recent years inAustralia.)
