[BIG SOUTH WOMEN] High Point, the two-time defending tournament champion, has been chosen first in the Big South’s annual preseason women’s poll forthe first time. In addition, league coaches voted High Point forward Kelli Joline as the Preseason Attacking Player of the Year. Radford goalkeeper
Joline, who started every game for High Point in 2010, was a First-TeamAll-Big South selection last season in addition to her All-Freshman Team honors. She finished the season ranked No. 3 in the League in both goals (11) and points (25). She finished just ahead ofLiberty’s Aimee Luurtsema and Winthrop’s Courtney Durbin in balloting for Preseason Attacking Player of theYear.
Brown was voted 2010 Big South Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, becoming just the second player in League history to collect both awards in the sameseason. High Point’s Janay Whittaker was second to Brown in defensive voting.
